An associate of mine had mentioned SEDONA as the most beautiful village in the world, so perhaps I had extreme expectations. But, I will agree that it is the most unique village in the world. It was wonderful, I was able to meditate on the red rocks, at the so-called ‘Cathedral Rock’ while a Native Apache woman played her instrument in the distance, her sounds echoing the canyons of the rocks. While it was hot, the heat didn’t cause any pain. I met a kind soul named David while we were both coming back from hiking Devils’ Bridge. It turns out David and I weren’t all that different, and so we joined forces together to overcome the evil forces of being alone in the middle of the desert.

I like Sedona. Though it is weird how people want to live in the desert but just to grow a square lawn. Hm.

I made a friend named David who is also doing a trip, he’s cool he took me off roading.

As David and I continued our journey together, we came across the last stop before my first destination (see next page), FLAGSTAFF. I had been told of FLAGSTAFF from a friend in PHOENIX, Fox, who mentioned of the Pluto-discovering Lowell Observatory. Before that, I had gone on my own to a local sunset view at an off-season ski resort, to get a landscape view of the area. Right then, I realized why FLAGSTAFF was the greatest city in Arizona. It is what’s known as a ‘Dark-Sky City’, where the city has taken measures to significantly reduce light pollution throughout the town. The result? The dimly lit Milky Way following you from every street, of this city mind you. David and I were in shock, why can’t this be the norm everywhere?! So many go their entire lives without seeing Her, yet the citizens of FLAGSTAFF had her every single night. We slept comfortably in our vehicles after a long day of star catching.
